Modern Languages
The Modern Languages Department at Holy Trinity offers courses in Core French and Extended French. If you are thinking of travelling, it is vital to know and speak other languages. Canada has two official languages, and as such, it is very useful to be able to speak both. At Holy Trinity, French is offered at the Academic and Applied levels in grades 9 and 10 and at the University Preparation and Open levels in grades 11 and 12. The extended French program is only offered for in-person learning. This year’s grade 9 and 10 Extended French students will be able to take Grade 10 Academic History in French. This year’s grade 12 French students both core and extended will have the opportunity to challenge the DELF, a French Language proficiency test recognized world- wide at the B1 Level at St. John’s College in the month of May. |
Club FrançaisThe French Club extends students' exposure to the French language beyond the class room. A club designed to improve students’ spoken French and enhance their awareness of the French culture, the Club Français meets monthly. Activities include French films, games and the preparation and appreciation of French food in conjunction with the Foods department. If you are interested in increasing your appreciation of the French culture and improving your spoken French, join the Club Français. It is open to all students from grades 9 to 12. |
