Morning Announcements

Wednesday, March 1st, 2023

Attention Grade 12 students interested in being on our 2023 prom committee.  Please plan to attend our first brief information meeting where we will be discussing our timeline and planning schedule next week Wednesday March 8th at lunch in room 155.  

 

Attention all grade 11 & 12 girls interested in trying out for the Senior Girls Rugby team, there will be a breif meeting Thursday March 2nd in Room 143.

 

Attention any students in grades 9-12 who are interested in Agriculture.  Our Agriculture SHSM is planning a trip to the London Farm Show for Thursday March 9th .  If you are interested in attending, please stop by to see Mrs. DHulster any time before Tuesday of next week to pick up a permission form.      

 

Spring sport announcement- anyone wanting to try out for the HT badminton team please do so in the gym hallway this week, until Thursday at lunch.
Tryouts/ practice will begin next week March 7th

Any potential graduates that have not completed the grad registration, please do so as we need to get the gowns ordered. The link was emailed to your school email address.

 

If any students in grade 12 would like to write the Euclid math contest, or if any grade 9s, 10s or 11s would like to write a second math contest. please see Mr. Haak some time this week.

Our Hoops for Heart fundraiser is a 3 on 3 basketball tournament that is as fun or as competitive as you want it to be. We offer a male, female, and coed division. To enter each player needs to fundraise a minimum of 25 dollars which goes directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Prizes will go to best dressed team, highest male and female fundraiser, and winning teams. 

Come down to the Phys Ed office to pick up your pledge forms. Due date for all forms will be March. 8th.

Attention students- this is an important announcement for all students attending the cadaver lab with Mrs. Bouw this Thursday at the University of Waterloo.

 

There will be an important meeting at the beginning of lunch today  in room 246 regarding the trip. All students attending the trip must attend. The meeting will only be 5 min.  Thank you.

Thanks to all those who participated in the Euchre tournament last week. In Third place was Team Jesse. In Second place was Team Cottage Kids and the tournament Champions with no losses was Team Walter - congratulations Matthew Noseworthy. For anyone interested in playing some card or board games are welcome to come out to Room 149 over lunch any day of the week.

 

Congratulations to the HT curling team.

Last Friday both the boys and girls played 3 games in the last day of league play.

The boys Noah, Zac, Tyler, Kevin and Wilbur or Dawg finished the season with 5 wins and 1 loss but had an unfortunate loss in the semi finals. 

The boys will be advancing to CWOSSA to represent Norfolk .

 

The girls team skipped by Emma Stewart had an undefeated season with 3 wins zero losses and 3 ties.

Keiara, Ally, Erica, Emma and Cameron are all first time curlers and played amazing.

The girls play Thursday ( weather permitting) for this years AABHN championship against North Park and will be representing Norfolk at CWOSSA Feb 28 to March 1st.

 

On Friday, the Junior Girls Volleyball team had their championship game against their rivals, SCS. The girls came out on top with an absolutely dominating performance that led them to a 3-0 victory, crowning them champions in the league. Special shout-out to Rachael Rogers who was a powerhouse in both the front and back row and Kelsey Giles, whose impeccable setting helped keep our offence strong. The girls will be headed to CWOSSA Thursday and Friday. Good luck Titans!

 

The Holy Trinity Junior Boys' Basketball team captured the Haldimand-Norfolk league championship with a 59-42 victory over the Delhi Raiders. The team got an outstanding effort from all 13 players. The win left the team with an overall record of 12 wins and 3 losses - undefeated in league play with a record of 11 wins and zero losses. 

 

Members of the winning team include grade 10 students Cadell Thompson, KJ Stronks, Abraham Maritim, Quintin Salverda, Mike Demaiter, Julian Van Haverbeke, Nick Bint, Carter Mychajluk, Trey D'Hondt and Grady D'Hondt. Grade 9 students include Noah Morris, Jack Palermo and Lynken Derkach. 

 

With the victory, the Titans have qualified for the CWOSSA Double 'A' Championships this weekend in Orangeville. The team is reminded of their practice today at 3:00 pm.

Last night the junior girls volleyball played Delhi in their semi final game. The girls absolutely dominated Delhi, beating them in 3 straight sets! A great game was played by each girl, as it was truly a team effort. The girls are reminded of their practice Friday morning at 7:15 am.

 

Our senior girls volleyball team also took the win against Waterford in the semi finals. Scores were 25 - 14, 25 - 14 and 25 - 9, thanks in part to a string of serves by Grace Giles.

 

This means both the Jr and Sr Girls teams will be taking on SCS in the finals here at HT on Friday! The junior game will begin at 4:00 and the senior game will begin at 5:30. Come out and cheer the girls on and show your Titan spirit!! 

 

Good luck to both teams! 

 

 

There is a mandatory boys hockey meeting first thing this morning after the announcements in the gym.  All players MUST ATTEND.

 

 The French club has been postponed until next Wednesday the 22nd during lunch. It is still going to be in Madame Veszenyi's room and of course everyone is welcome, please bring your lunches!

21 members of the HT Swim Team travelled to New Hamburg yesterday for the CWOSSA swim meet.  Congratulations to all members who achieved Personal Bests and especially those who placed and came home with ribbons.  A special Shout Out to Chelsey Haskett, Mate Marschalko and Alexis Revai who came home with 1st place medals.  It's been a great season and your coaches are extremely proud.

This Wednesday, ACE presents The Woman King, starring Viola Davis.  If you enjoyed The Black Panther, you are sure to enjoy this action-packed adventure based on real events of the Dahomey tribe from Africa.  Come join us Wednesday right after school in room 150.  The movie starts right at 3:05 and a late bus will be available.

 

The French Club Will be Meeting this Thursday Over lunch, it will be in Mme. Vezenyi Room! Please bring your lunch and as always! Everyone is welcome! 

 

Yesterday in senior girls volleyball, our Titans cruised to a 3-0 win over Hagersville thanks to a total team effort.  

The girls will now play Waterford in the semi-finals on Wednesday.  Good luck!

 

Yesterday afternoon the Junior girls volleyball team played Waterford in their quarter final game. Waterford came out fighting but the girls were able to come out on top with a 3-0 win. The girls will be headed to the semi finals on Wednesday and are asked to check the Heja app for more details. They are also reminded of their 7:15 practice tomorrow morning. 


 

Monday, February 13th, 2023

The Euchre Tournament starts today over lunch in Room 149 - please arrive as soon as possible so there is enough time to complete the matches. Todays teams that are playing are:

Games club will continue to run in room 149 this week alongside the Euchre tournament. 

 

If you missed ordering 2023 GRAD WEAR there is a possibility of a second order. The order will only happen if we have enough people interested. Grads who would like to order have until the end of the day Tuesday to add your name to the list in the main office. If there is enough interest there will be an announcement to let you know when orders can be made. 

 

Congratulations to both the girls and boys curling teams on their play Friday in Brantford.

Each team played 3 games against teams from Brantford and Norfolk.

The girls team is in first place so far with a 1 win and 2 ties.

This is great work especially considering 5 of the 6 girls have never curled before.

The boys team is first in their pool with a 2 wins and 1 loss.

This coming Friday is the last regular season tournament and will determine the AABHN finals .
