Friday, October 20th, 2023

Yesterday, the Senior Boys’ Volleyball team played a great game against a tough Delhi team. They battled hard, but unfortunately fell short - only losing by a couple points. The coaches would like to give a shout out to some excellent setting from Aadi Kakoty and strong hitting from Ricki Tsai and Randy Griffin. There were also some big blocks from Colby Holliday and some awesome passes from Andre Feere and Noah Gascoigne. Well done boys!

 

The team heads into a tournament at SCS on Monday and are asked to coordinate rides with Mrs. Mayne and Mrs. Van Dyk.

 

Attention all swimmers:  our first practice is tonight at 3:30 at the Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre.  

Swimmers must have submitted their money and forms to Ms Freund or Ms. Deconinck- O'Neail in guidance in order to swim.  

If you do not have your money/forms today but still wish to swim please see one of your coaches in guidance.

The senior and junior girls basketball team both defeated Delhi last night at home. 

Awesome defence by seniors Maeve Suprun and Teagan Van Rooy. Parker Lennox had a career high of 7 points. 

In the junior game all girls contributed to the win, with Sofia Miguel scoring a game high of 10.

Are you feeling too old to go out for Halloween, or maybe you love trick or treating, but you don't like candy? Well TITANS SCARE HUNGER is for you then! Every Halloween, our school community picks various neighbourhoods on Halloween, but instead of trick or treating, we ask for nonperishable food items to donate to the local St. Vincent de Paul. If you are interested in this, we'll have a brief meeting in Mrs. D'Hulster's room (room 155) at the start of Lunch Friday. Gather up your trick or treating friends and come sign up for a route.

 

Sr. Boys Volleyball played a great game against Valley yesterday but fell short in the 5th set. Great playing boys!

 

The senior girl’s basketball team beat Valley Heights last night in Langton with a score of 45-12. High scorers were Teagan Vanrooy and Sweed Babin with 8 points each, Charli Babin and Maeve Suprun with 6 each, and Victoria Ostia-Estevez with 5. 

The senior and junior girls play against Delhi at home on Thursday. 

 

There are still a few homecraft items left in room 155.  Please see Mrs. DHulster by this Friday to pick up your homecraft and prize money!  Any items not picked up by Friday will be disposed of.  Thank you!

 

Our HT Agriculture Club would like to get back up and running!  We are looking for new members to join. We will meet monthly at lunch in room 155.  Our first meeting of the year will be this Thursday October 19 at lunch!  Bring your lunch and ideas, see you then!

The trip is open to all extended French students, any student who has taken grade 10 core French, and anyone who will be taking grade 10 core French this school year. Attention cross country runners Please see ms Deconinck o’neail in guidance sometime today to confirm rides for the AABHN meet in Brantford on Wednesday.

 

Attention swimmers our first practice is this Friday October 20th at 3:30 pm at the annaleise carr aquatic centre.  Please be sure to submit your money and forms to ms deconinck-O’Neail in guidance before the first swim.  If you have any questions please come to guidance and speak to ms Freund or Ms D-O.

 

Grade 12 grads - the how to apply to college workshops will be happening this week Tuesday and Thursday.  If you are not on Ms Kitchen or Mr lichty’s homeroom and are thinking of applying to college please come down to guidance to sign up for a workshop.

 

Grade 12s there are still many liaison visits happening and some new ones added like Lakehead and Georgian.  If you have not already signed up please sign up in the red binder on the counter in guidance.

Any homecraft items returned from the fair that were not picked up yesterday, are now located in Ms. D'Hulster's room - room 155.  Students can pick up their homecrafts throughout the day.  Thank you!

Please note, students with winning produce tags can pick them up during this time as well. 

Also, students with winning tags and prize money can collect their winnings in Ms. D'Hulster's room beginning next week throughout the day.

Port Dover buses will not be performing pick up or drop off services on Friday Oct 13, 2023, meaning no transfer buses will be operating either.

The following buses are cancelled on Friday, October 13th.

Students requiring transportation that day will be able to ride from:

Stop area #1 - DeKoning (Meats) Restaurant Hwy #6 near St John’s Road for P/U departure by bus # 1894 at 8:25 am and D/O at 3:20 pm or

Stop area #2 - St John’s Anglican Church the corner of St John’s Road and Hwy 24 for P/U departure by Bus # 1134 at 8:25 am and D/O at 3:30 pm.

It is the students responsibility to be at the stop area on time. The bus will not wait.

The homeroom winners of the most food drive donations for our recent "Students helping Students Thanksgiving campaign" are: Ms Revai, Mr. Ivak and Mrs. Gillis-Ziturek

Attention Cross country runners.  Any student interested in participating in next week's AABHN cross country meet in Brantford or CWOSSA on October 26th must attend a mandatory meeting immediately following announcements in the upper cafe today.  Please be sure to attend.

The Junior Boys Volleyball team had a strong showing at their tournament yesterday. The team won six out of eight sets, with excellent serving from Jaden Bautista and great hits from Koen Berkel and Jack Palermo. Nice job Titans and keep up the good work."

If you enjoy creating art, scrapbooking, creating crafts or gardening, OR are ready to start getting ready for Fair 2024, Holy Trinity is starting our first ever Homecraft Club!  Ms. Berta and Ms. Hanson are inviting you to room 211 this Wednesday at the beginning lunch to see what it is all about.  We will be starting with scrapbooking!  Supplied will be provided.  Hope to see you there. (Please read this announcement everyday until next Wednesday.) 


Games club is open today over lunch in room 231.

Any students interested in the When Faith Meets Pedagogy Youth Forum trip to Toronto on October 26th, come see Chap Ian for a registration form. This day is a day to dialogue and network with other students from Catholic Schools across Ontario. Forms are Due NEXT Friday.

There will be a brief but very important meeting for all cross country runners immediately following the announcement in the cafeteria.

The Academic Award recipients for Honour Roll standing have been posted on the Main Office doors.  Please check if you feel your name should be listed, based on last year's marks.
