Junior Girls Basketball Tryouts will take place in the morning on Wednesday Sept 11 at 7:15-8:30am and afterschool on Thursday  Sept 12 at 3:00-4:15pm.

Please sign up outside the phys ed office and get a permission form from Mr. Flynn in the Phys Ed office. 

 

Senior Girls Basketball Tryouts will take place Monday afterschool and Tuesday Morning. 

Please get a permission form from Mr. Flynn in the Phys Ed office. 

 

 

"Attention Holy Trinity musicians, welcome back! If you are one of those students who rented out an instrument over the summer, could you please return the instrument by the end of next week to Mr. Webster in Room 147? That would be tremendous! Also, if any musicians are interested in joining the Holy Trinity Jazz band or the Holy Trinity Concert Band, please come see Mr. Webster at lunch time in Room 147. Thank you!"

Rackets and balls will be provided, but if you have your own racket, please bring it to tryouts and practices with you! Games club is closed today during lunch but will be open again tomorrow in room 231 for those interested in learning some new card games or board games.

Thursday, May 16th, 2024

Congratulations to the varsity girls rugby team who defeated Assumption College School 12-5 to earn the title of AABHM champions! It was a tight match- but the girls powered through and once again had an amazing second half!

> Try’s were scored by Liv Bluhm and Emma Thomson. It was a full team effort and the girls are off to CWOSSA next week!

> Well done Titans!

 

The boys field lacrosse team finished their regular season on a winning note going 3-0 on the day, beating Waterford, Hagersville and Paris.  Stand out performances go to Cam Schweitzer for netting 6 goals on the day; Matt Heran for adapting to many new positions on the field; and to Owen Smuck for almost getting his first official goal before his stick exploded.  The boys are reminded of their mandatory practice Tuesday after school in preparation for the CWOSSA tournament next Wednesday.


 

We are having our annual HT car show this Friday. Everyone is invited, please feel welcome to join us with your class, or at lunch. Reminder the cafeteria is having a car show lunch special, featuring pulled pork and onion rings. Hope to see you all at the show!


 

There will be a mandatory car show committee meeting today at lunch, everyone on the committee MUST attend.


 

Tuesday, May 14th, 2024

Yesterday- the varsity girls rugby team played in their semi final game - and after being down 12-0 in the first half- the girls dug deep and battled back to defeat  the BCI Mustangs 24-17! The mustangs have not lost a playoff game in 14 years- but this year - they were knocked off the podium by our own Titans girls rugby team! Congratulations to the entire team for playing their hearts out and not giving up! They trusted the process and believed they could beat BCI- and they did!

The deadline to submit your forms to attend the Valley Heights Fishing Tournament at Backus Mill is this Thursday.  Please submit all forms to Ms. Hanson by this date.  No extensions!

 

The deadline to submit prom table requests is this Thursday. Please see Ms Hanson by this date if you have a preference for where you are sitting at prom.

22 bursaries across the province are available! In your application, please describe the justice sector career you are interested in pursuing and how your post-secondary program will help you achieve this goal. The amount of bursary for each recipient is $1000.  Deadline to submit applications is May 27!

On Thursday, last week the Titans finished their season with a six game winning streak. The HT girls soccer team beat SCS 7-3. Exceptional goaltending by Graece Fowler. The next game is the semifinal on Thursday, May 16 at Hagersville secondary school. 

On Friday, the HT Mock Trial team competed in the regional competition. Ryan Toft was acknowledge as the best Charlie, the accused, on the stand. Alescia Butler was exceptional in her role as a witness. Kate Earle, Stephanie Ferreira, Lucious Czerlau and Banessa Pattemore demonstrated authenticity in their roles as Crown and Defence lawyers. Thanks to Jil Michaels, Pheinix Fletch and Carly Barnes in their support roles for the team. HT is very proud of your performance.

Attention health care club members! Just a reminder that there is a health care club meeting today in room 246. Paramedic services will be at the school for a career talk and presentation. 


Yesterday in girls rugby action, the varsity team defeated North Park 25-0. After a rocky start- the girls came together and put the pressure on by scoring 3 of the 5 trys in the second half. Trys were scored by Seleena Grey, Emma Thomson with 2- Grace Fowler and Emmersyn McDowell. 

The girls will be headed into the quarter finals on Wednesday. Stay tuned for more details. Great job girls!

Attention Titans, If you are interested in attending Costa Rica for March Break 2025- please attend the parent meeting tonight and sign up in the main office. The parent meeting begins at 6pm in the library. If you cannot attend the meeting but still wish to attend the trip- please send an e-mail to Mrs. Bouw today. 

Attention SHSM students who attended the air ornge trip. The second online training is now overdue. Please check your e-mail and complete this training ASAP as it has already been paid for. Thank you to those who have already completed it. Your diligence in checking your e-mail and respect of the process is very much appreciated. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Bouw. 

Last Thursday, the Junior girls rugby team played at the Centennial Cup in Guelph. The girls had a great day battling in two tough losses but came away with a win against defending OFSAA champions from Mayfield. The girls continued to show improvements as the prepare to jump into varsity team play and then play-offs. All the girls from the team who are attending the game today are dismissed at 10:40am to get ready to board the bus at 11am. Techers - please excuse the team at 10:40 am this morning for their game in Brantford against North Park.

Call all students who placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd at our track and field meet please come down to the gym after announcements to complete final confirmations for your events at the AABHN Championships this Thursday and Friday. 

The boys field lacrosse team started their season in a dominant fashion, going 3-0 on the day; beating Waterford 9-3, Hagersville 12-1, and finally Paris 12-3. Shout outs on offence go to Landen Griffen, Jase Macaulay and Jack Biro.  Excellent balance attack from Ryan Hale, Steven Reidy and Callum Gee. Awesome defensive play by Taylor Harding, Asher Martin and Graeson Martin. Stellar goaltending by Owen Smuck and Joel Kenline. First career goals also scored by Phoenix Luke, Jacob Currie and Braydon McCallum. The Most impressive shout out of the day goes to our FOGO guy (face off get off) Braydon MacCallum as he only lost 3 draws all day! 

The boys are reminded of their practice Tuesday after school in preparation for their upcoming games against Assumption and McKinnon Park. Keep the train moving boys!

A parent information meeting will be held Wednesday, May 22 at 6:00 for all students who are interested in joining next year's March Break tour to Berlin, Prague, Krakow, and Budapest.  Students who sign up before the end of May will receive a $150 tour discount. The price is all inclusive for flights, bus travel in Europe, accommodations, breakfast, supper, and admission to tourist sites.  See Mrs. Sullivan in RM160 for information

Friday, May 3rd, 2024

Yesterday the boys' soccer team played their best game of the season, in front of a raucous crowd, and beat SCS 2-0. Goals were scored by Luke Harrington and LeBron Arrendell. Marco Garcia made a huge pk save and Jordon Pacheco was the player of the game. The team would like to thank all the fans that came out and supported them. It had a true home field advantage sound to it and the team had fun playing with so much school spirit on display.

The KILPATRICK SCHOLARSHIP deadline is fast approaching!

 

1. The scholarship is open to any student who is enrolled in a Norfolk County Secondary School and will be furthering their studies in a business-related program at the post-secondary level.

 

2. The student must have attended the same school for three years.

 

3. The candidate for the scholarship must be pursuing a post-secondary education in a school in the current year of graduation or after having completed a fifth year at a secondary school

 

Due Date is May 30th

Attention grade 12 students!  Bursary opportunity of $1, 000

 

The Chelsea Addison Memorial Bursary will be awarded to one student aged 21 and under (as of December 31, 2023) in one of the Haldimand or Norfolk County high schools. To qualify for this bursary, an applicant must have applied to a postsecondary program and either:

 

· Be entering into a postsecondary program with a focus in the field of treating and/or studying mental health;

 

OR

 

· Be someone who has personally dealt with a mental health challenge.
