Attention Health Care club - CCC members- due to the spirit week events this week- we will resume our Wednesday meetings starting on Feb. 21st in room 246. The meetings will be every other week. Please check Heja for our schedule..

Attention Health and Wellness SHSM students- please check the Brightspace homepage and your e-mail for an important announcement. Your response was required last night, however- you can e-mail Mrs. Bouw asap if you are interested in the Air Ornge SHSM field trip. It is important - especially for Grade 12’s to  continually check these platforms so you are up to date with important information for semester 2. 

If you have any questions- please see Mrs Bouw in room 246 today.

 

Attention grade 11 or 12 students looking at pursuing an Undergraduate degree leading to Med School or a Health Science program in University. The University of Western is having their annual Medical Hall of Fame Discovery Days. A select number of students from HT can attend. This full day on May 3rd consists of a series of workshops and a guest speaker. If you are interested in attending please e-mail Mrs. Bouw by this Friday.

 

Reminder that the Grade 11 skilled Trades presentation is on Tuesday Feb 20th during Period 4.  All are welcomed !!  You must sign up by this Friday if you

 would like to attend... Sign up sheets in guidance.

 

This is a very important announcement for all students who will be taking the French DELF test in April . You must complete the online form for Madame Whiting today that was sent to your email . Please ensure that you also submit your paper for to Madame Vezsemyi asap. Thanks . 

 

Attention all CWOSSA bound swimmers.  If you are not going to be at practice tonight you must see Ms. Deconinck-O'Neail or Ms. Freund sometime today.

The Varsity Boys Hockey Team played in a tournament yesterday hosted by Delhi.

The boys went undefeated in the tournament winning the championship over the host team Delhi Raiders by the score of 2-1.

The boys played outstanding defensive hockey, only allowing 3 total goals in the 3 games they played.

Shout outs go to: 

The team’s defensemen Nick Bint, Koen Berkel, Matt Heran and Fionn Kelly.

Goaltenders Ethan Kett, Landon Terrebroodt (who recorded a shutout) and Hudson Chambers who recorded the win in the Championship game.

On the offensive side, Taylor Harding with 2 goals, Callum Gee with a goal, Chase McCallum with a goal and Landon Griffin with the game winning goal in the Championship game.

Congratulations boys, and let’s continue our winning ways today against Simcoe.

 

 We are going to introduce a Foos ball table in the atrium next week. The foos ball table will be $1 to play  and it will help to offset cost of HT Athletics.  If there is any issues with having the foos ball table in the atrium we will remove it. Everyone needs to respect this privilege. The table has been part of HT since the school opened and we hare hoping the student body will enjoy having it.

G.I.R.L.S Power Camp is recruiting facilitators aged 16+ to help run camp this year, it will run April 19, 20 and overnight to the 21st , and there is a mandatory training day on Saturday April 6th. You will receive 40 community service hours by participating. If you’d like to apply, please see the information posted on the volunteer board in guidance, the deadline for applications is February 29th 2024.

 

Attention members of the Boys Varsity Hockey Team.

Just a reminder of your all day tournament tomorrow in Delhi.

First game is at 9:15. Please be at the rink for 8:30 in preparation for the game.

Anyone interested in gaining volunteer hours there are two elementary basketball tournaments at our school Tuesday and Wednesday next week. If interested in helping out come down to the phys ed office and speak with Mr. Backus

Attention Swim Team:  There will be brief but very important meeting for all swimmers immediately following these announcements in guidance:  regarding CWOSSA. 


 

This is a reminder to make sure that you are in your assigned locker before Friday. Next week all unassigned lockers will be locked and any contents in them removed. If you are unsure of your assigned locker please check with the office. Also, all lockers must have a school lock and be locked at all times.

A reminder to all grade 12 students: community service hours are passed due.  If you have not yet submitted your hours please do so as soon as possible. 

 

Semester two timetables will be emailed to your school email, the end of next week prior to the beginning of semester two.

Are interested in writing the University of Waterloo math contest?  Sign up this week with your current math teacher, or see Mr. Haak at lunch in room 260 if you do not have math this semester.


 

Once again, Holy Trinity’s Swim Team brought home the championship cup by winning the District Swim Meet on Friday.  Every swimmer contributed to this win! We’re excited to share that 22 of our swimmers have qualified to move on to CWOSSA in February.

We invite all swimmers to come to Guidance where the results will be posted.  Congratulations again!

There is a Music Ministry practice in the music room over lunch today (room 147)

 

The rosary will be prayed in the Chapel today over the 2nd half of lunch (starting at 11:55am).

 

Grad photos will take place February 5th and 6th, for any potential grad that has not had them taken. The link was emailed to your school email for any student who has paid the grad fee. If you require re-takes, please see Michele in guidance.

 

Wednesday, January 17th, 2024

"The Junior Girls volleyball team beat Valley Heights in three sets last night thanks to their communication and impressive court movement. The girls stayed energetic and fought for every point. The team will pick up in the new semester with a game against Delhi."


 

Attention current and former health care students and health care club members (CCC) members. 

Mrs. Bouw is looking for 2-3 more students to assist her during the open house this Thursday from 6:30-8pm. Dress the part in your health care scrubs! 
Volunteer hours will be given. Please e-mail her today or pop over to see her in room 246 if you are interested. Details will be provided then.

The HT Junior Boys’ Basketball team improved their season record to 6 wins and 1 loss with a 44-25 victory over the Valley Heights Bears. Jack Palermo led the Titans with 18 points. Noah Bint, John Steckelberg, Lucian Porto, and Parker Smith each added 4 points. Lynken Derkach led team at the defensive end and rebounded well. The team is reminded of their practice today at 3:00 p.m. and their final game – prior to the exam break – at Dunnville on Thursday.

There will be a short meeting TODAY in Mr. VanParys’ room (room 242) at the start of lunch regarding the upcoming league schedule.

"Girls Hockey team rounded out their regular season with a 6-0 victory over Delhi on Monday. Leading the way, with 2 goals each were; Olivia Richard and Teagan VanRoy. Averie Bonin and Aubrey Howe each added a goal each. Alyssa Calvesbert and Emma Stewart shared the shutout in net for the Titans. With the win the girls clinched first place, heading into the playoffs." 

 

There are a couple of upcoming  Volunteer opportunities coming up please listen carefully and come and see the volunteer board in guidance for more information.

 

Purrfect companions in Delhi is looking for shelter cleaning volunteers age 16 and up to  help for Community Service hours.  Cleaning shifts are 9-12 and 5-7 Monday - Sunday.   IF interested please contact 226-227-8289.

 

The Knights of Columbus from Simcoe/Waterford are in need of some volunteers to help with a Spaghetti dinner. Saturday Feb. 3rd.   Start time will be around 4 and go to 8pm  or later.  This event is at St. Mary's church in Simcoe. The type of help could vary from setting up tables, serving food and/or clean up after. The cooking would be done by adults.   6 - 8 volunteers are needed.Students interested in helping out can call Bob @ 519-718-3020 or  talk to Chap Ian.
